Description
A hand-painted geometric pentagon stud — blocked in green, black, blue, and burnt orange with a gold outline — tops a teardrop drop made from authentic woven inabel fabric in a black and white basketweave pattern. This piece pairs two Ilocano artisan traditions in one earring: hand-painted polymer clay and hand-loomed inabel textile, both crafted by Ms. Angelie Banag and local weavers from Sarart, Paoy, and Pinili in Ilocos Norte. As with all handmade artisan pieces, slight variation between earrings is natural and part of what makes each pair one of a kind. Lightweight enough for everyday wear, yet bold enough to be the centerpiece of an outfit. Curated by Kathleen Penhollow for the Ilocos Emporium jewelry collection, this piece carries forward Ilocos Norte’s artistic heritage in a wearable, modern form.
